Pull! Today's episode is all about trapshooting, as we introduce you to Issabella Berge, Canby's crack shooting teen who recently proved herself as one of the nation's top amateur performers on the sport's largest stage. At the recent USA High School Clay Target League National Championship, she accomplished the rare feat of shooting a perfect 100, an achievement matched by only six other competitors in a field of 1,800. She and her coaches take us back to that moment, which provoked cheers, applause, even tears of pride.

The Wild Hare Country Festival rode into Canby this past weekend, as the sounds of some of the best red dirt bands in the country transformed Pat's Acres into the old fashioned Wild, Wild West. Whitey Morgan and the chart-topping Cody Johnson headlined this year's festival. We'll bring you some of the sights and sounds (dirt not included).

In today's episode, we welcome on Lisa Leir, main admin of the popular Facebook group Canby Now to answer all of your burning questions: "Where did the name come from?" "How did the group get to be so big?" And, most important of all, "Why do Canby people lose so many dogs?" She also brings us the scoop on the upcoming Slice of Summer series, which kicks off this Sunday!
TW/CW: Today's Poetry Now selection discusses suicide. Poetry Now readings come after the news and the first ad break, immediately before the Canby Conversation (main interview portion of the show).

"The Mother of All Tribute Band Festivals." "Summer Camp for Adults." "Hey Honey, What's Going on at Pat's Acres?" There are many ways to describe Harefest, but to really understand, it's just one of those things you have to see -- and hear -- for yourself. In today's episode, we give you that chance.

Singer, multi-talented instrumentalist, writer, poet, actor and (self-described) "seasoned vagabond," Bee Appleseed can do it all. The former Canby resident and CHS grad has spent his post-college days trodding the globe as itinerant musician, and he joins the Canby Now Podcast tells us some of his stories from the road. He calls his sound "cosmic rock and roll." We don't really know what that means, but we know we like it, and we think you will, too!

Local experts estimate there are about 280 students in the Canby School District who are homeless or housing insecure. We don't see them because, fortunately, they're not out on the streets (usually). But they are in less-than-ideal situations that can severely impact their success in school and life in general. Second Home, a program of Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon, has found that something as simple as a stable housing situation can almost double an unaccompanied student's chances of graduating high school. This program is now in Canby for the first time, and our guests today are eager to tell us all about it.

The Canby Independence Day Celebration is one of the city's biggest annual events, drawing thousands of people to Wait Park and the downtown core each year. In today's episode, we chat with the city of Canby's Jamie Stickel and Calvin LeSueur, two people who are instrumental in making this big party happen. We spend most of our time trying to make as many Dad jokes as possible. So, basically, your standard episode.

In a legislative session marked by more controversy than most — one in which a dozen Senators fled the Capitol and even the state, with the state police dispatched to bring them back — no proposal has generated more public outcry than HB 3063: the vaccine bill. It's a question that pits public health against personal freedom. And it's very complicated, so we decided to ask for some help.
In today's episode, we sit down with Dr. Max Cohen, a naturopathic physician who believes vaccines are safe and effective. He agreed to answer our questions, and yours as well, about vaccine studies, delayed schedules, adverse reactions, the work of Dr. Paul Thomas and more.
